NEW JOKER IMAGES & THE FUTURE OF THE SNYDERVERSE
Vanity Fair had a chance to sit down and talk with Zack Snyder about his use of Jared Leto’s Joker in the highly anticipated #SnyderCut of Justice League. Along with the discussion were two pictures of the Clown Prince himself.
THE JOKER
When the Snyder Cut is released on March 18th we will finally get a chance to see Ben Affleck’s Batman and Jared Leto’s Joker on screen talking with each other.
“The Joker is really the only thing that I thought of in retrospect,” Snyder tells Vanity Fair. “But I will say that it was always my intention to bring Joker into that world.”
Snyder has teased Jokers involvement since additional photography ended a few months back. Now we finally get our first glimpse and it is something to behold.
No more tattoos
No more Gangster look
This is a Joker of a different time and state of mind.
“The cool thing about the scene is that it’s Joker talking directly to Batman about Batman,” Snyder said. “It’s Joker analyzing Batman about who he is and what he is. That’s the thing I also felt like fans deserved from the DC Universe. That is to say, the Jared Leto Joker and the Ben Affleck Batman, they never really got together. It seemed uncool to me that we would make it all the way through this incarnation of Batman and Joker without seeing them come together.”

Future of Snyderverse in Question
Throughout the Vanity Fair article there are a few quotes by snyder that some may feel are worrying in regards to the future of the Snyderverse. While it’s understandable to be concerned after fighting for years, its important that we DO NOT lose focus and remember to push forward with all the amazing work we have done thus far.
The first quote I want to talk about is this one here.
You see that? Here let me blow it up a bit for you and black out the unnecessary info. “…AND IF THERE EVER WAS GOING TO BE A NEXT MOVIE, WHICH, OF COURSE, THERE PROBABLY WON’T BE…”
While many will immediately jump to conclusion that this means there are no plans for continuing the Snyderverse. But as our friends over at Lightcast Pod have stated multiple times, you have to pay attention to wording. When he says “OF COURSE, THERE PROBABLY WON’T BE…” It is apparent that he is covering for his misstep in nearly confirming there is a NEXT MOVIE.
The next excerpt I want to discuss is this here.
“IT SEEMED UNCOOL TO ME THAT WE WOULD MAKE IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THIS INCARNATION OF BATMAN AND JOKER WITHOUT SEEING THEM COME TOGETHER.”
So, wait… ALL THE WAY THROUGH?
Well that is a bit concerning for sure. But I can also say with 100% certainty that he is unable to speak about what is coming. He has to choose his words wisely as well as build excitement for what we are about to witness on March 18th.
You can read these quotes as they are or you can read between the lines and understand that there are still things that are unable to be revealed. Trust the process, trust Zack and remember we are better and stronger UNITED.
