Mark Hamill – The REAL Joker
Day 6 of our Joker discussion and so far we have looked at Joaquin Phoenix, Zach Galifianakis, Cesar Romero, Cameron Monaghan and Heath Ledger. This iteration is possibly the longest running of the character and has captured the imagination of so many people. SO without further ado… Mark Hamill
As we push forward, with the help of our friends within and outside the Spoiler-verse, we will figure out who the quintessential Joker is. Leading up to our Rankings of all the Clown Princes of Gotham.
Jay Roach
Honestly, I have read amazing things about him, and I had to YouTube him the other way. His voice alone captures the Joker I love, but he dropped a spot because it was animation (read more from Jay here)
John Horsley
Though only a voice, his is the voice that is in everyone’s head when they read a Joker comic. I would love to see him actually put on the makeup for a movie. He could do it #givehamillachance (Read more from John here)
Kenric Regan
I will always love Hamill but hey I like SW that being said Hamill’s voice acting chops on his Joker for the Batman animated shows and movies has become the stuff of legend. (Read more from Kenric here)
Kaylie Horsley
I haven’t seen the cartoons, but I am sure he did great. (Check out Kaylie on Spoiler Country)
Colton Bird
Being a childhood favorite of mine, Mark Hamill has to be at number one. He perfectly captures how the joker should sound and captured his personality, all while never physically showing up on screen. (read more from Colton here)
JT aka PNWJrock
by far my favorite voice actor that played Joker he can nail the laugh perfectly for the animated series and he did an amazing job playing the voice of Chucky in the new movie. (watch JT steam here)
Jon Anderson
The voice. Hands down, so distinguished. With an amazing range for something that might be just shrill. (see Jon’s artwork here)
Robert Slavinsky
Is there anyone who portrayed and understood the character as well as Mark Hamill? His laugh is unforgettable, his voice is unmistakable and the portrayal, though animation, is absolutely on-point. When reading comics this is the voice and portrayal I always think of. There has not been anyone better. (read more from Robert here)
Sara Kay
I cant rank voice actors above live action; I need to see body language. But Hamill has some decent dark tones. (read Sara’s other reviews here)
Casey T. Allen
He kept the madness of the character alive while Warmer Brothers was doing everything they could to screw up the Batman live action franchise post Burton’s involvement. Plus, he introduced the world to Harley Quinn, and that’s not for nothing….puddin’. (read more from Casey here)
Joshua Queen
It’s him, and the voice is great too. (see his car videos here)
