Jet City Comic Show 2019 – Guests to get excited for!

You know, Jet City Comic Show in Tacoma, Washington is one of my favorite shows to go to. I love that it’s a smaller show with some larger show aspects, and it feels like it sticks more true to being a comic show. I’ve had great luck there finding books, I mean last year I was able to pick up a bunch of Nick Fury comics and was super excited!

I’ve been getting TONS of emails from the show promoting all the amazing things they have going on this year, their 10th anniversary! I figured I would sit down and talk about it, build a little hype for what has been a great show for me to go to every year.

First thing I will say is if you want to go, buy tickets now. Prices go up on September 1st. Click here to buy now. (We don’t get a kick back, but you should still go)

This years show looks to be an exciting one. 10th Anniversary, a ton of really great guests! Let’s break this thing down.

Guests

There’s a ton of great guests at this show and if you want to see all of them you can check them out on their site here. But let’s talk about some that I think are pretty cool to have at this show.

Jim Valentino

Normalman creator himself, Jim Valentino! I mean that’s not what he’s most famous for but it’s a pretty good series if you have never read it.

Most people know him for being an Image Comics co-founder and creator of ShadowHawk (who is more than a Wolverine/Darkhawk love child). He’s also credited with the discovery of a few people you MIGHT have heard on, Robert Kirkman and Brian Michael Bendis.

I’d love to have Jim come on the show sometime to simply pick his brain about his approach to comics, the creation of Image (which I’m sure he’s talked about in length before) and more.

Kevin Maguire

1988 Russ Manning Best Newcomer Award winner Kevin Maguire will be at this show! You might know how from breakout hits like Action Comics, or JLA, or even indie favorite Captain America!

Kevin has collaborated with Kieth Giffen and J.M. DeMarreis a few times on Justice League projects, which if you never read the original ones from the 80’s, or the Formerly Known as the Justice League or I Can’t Believe it’s Not the Justice League you are doing yourself a dis-service.

Seriously though he’s a magic man with that pencil, and just look at that face!

Karl Kesel

The creator of the world’s awesomest (it’s a word) version of Superboy, co-creator of Section Zero, and general and all around nice guy Karl Kesel will Also be in Tacoma!

He also created amazing things like King Shark, who we see on the Flash TV Show, was one of the writers in the Death of Superman arc, designer of the Suicide Squad logo, and so much more!

Recently we talked with Karl about his new exciting property, Impossible Jones, which you can listen to here.

You should go see him at the show, and tell him John and Kaylie say hello!

There are So many more awesome guests, but I’m not going to talk about them all, cause who has that kind of time! If you want to find out who else will be there, head on over to their page and take a look!
