DUNE DELAYED to Late 2021

It is being reported by collider.com that Denis Villeneuve’s Dune will be pushed from it’s December 18, 2020 release all the way to October 1, 2021. With the current climate of Hollywood and the ongoing pandemic this comes as no surprise that this has happened. Dune is not the first to make the jump to 2021 and may not be the last. Marvel’s Black Widow and MGM’s next Bond flick are two notable movies that have been moved in hopes of garnering a larger return than they would during these troubling times. With this move the two biggest films left to open in 2020 are WB’s Wonder Woman and 20th Century Studios Free Guy. Both of which could see a similar delay if things don’t begin to normalize even a little.

Unfortunately, this will likely cause additional theaters besides Regal to shut their doors either temporarily or permanently at this point.

More on this as it develops.
