Will STAR WARS FANS see More BO-KATAN in LIVE-ACTION?
Deadline had a chance to sit down with the Mandalorian leader herself, Katee Sackhoff, discussing her inclusion in the the live-action world of the hit Disney+ show, The Mandalorian. Even poking around to see if there could be something larger in the future for the character.
In the latest episode of the show titled, The Heiress, Bo-Katan and Din Djarin have an unsuspecting encounter which pits them against a small Imperial force as Bo-Katan searches for the fabled Darksaber. As fans know, it was last seen in the hands of Moff Gideon on Nevarro cutting himself out of his crashed Tie Fighter.
“For Bo-Katan, the darksaber represents so much, there’s so much lore about it, but at the same time, it’s in her mind and based on history; it’s the way to bring together the people of Mandalore and the way to rule and respect that is by earning it.”
While things begin to heat up on the show it appears we are going to be getting at least one new arc added to the show with Bo-Katan and clan Kryze. However, Katee was reluctant to say much about her future in regards to what she knows or thinks could be coming from her addition and plot in the grander Star Wars universe.
“From my experience with them and my experience in the industry, if you go and sit with a showrunner and ask questions, they’ll give you answers,” she said. “It may not be specific answers, and it may not be directly what’s going to happen in the future. But if I go and sit down with Dave Filoni and we talk about the world of Star Wars and how it relates to Bo-Katan, he’ll tell me anything I want to know. It’s just a matter of asking the right questions and then seeing how it fits in a storyline. There are no guarantees moving forward for anyone in any series. Things change and you never know. My questions are never, ‘What’s my involvement in this?’, rather it’s ‘Let’s talk about Bo-Katan’.”
While the interview mostly stayed on point in regards to Bo-Katan and her inclusion. Sackhoff, in response to the notion she might know more about what is going on with the mysterious inclusion of Boba Fett at the end of season 2’s first episode laughs saying,
“All of that is stuff I can’t talk about,” she said. “There is stuff that I know about talking with Dave Filoni about the world, and there are things that no one is meant to know yet.”
The article is an interesting look at Katee’s excitement of being part of this amazing universe, check it out now on Deadline.
