Star Wars Leaks Could Reveal Upcoming Films & Animated Show!
There are many “leaks” of what is to come in the Star Wars universe. While we fans are always excited to see what is next you may want to take these rumors with just a pinch of salt. Either way these actually sound pretty rad and we can only hope that half of these get put into development.
Rian Johnson
No matter how hard some fans try to push him away Rian Johnson isn’t going anywhere yet. One of the latest rumors is that he is currently developing a Star Wars trilogy titled ‘Offspring of the Jedi’
It seems like this project was dependent on the success of Episode IX. Which to this point seems to be doing VERY well with the audience and fans.
If true this makes sense since he was so adamant on making it clear ANYONE could be a Jedi and a Hero.
I don’t expect to see anything in regards to this for a couple years though.
THRAWN
In the early 90’s Timothy Zahn was the man who truly started the Star Wars Expanded Universe (Now dubbed Legends). His first foray into a Galaxy Far Far Away was his Heir to Empire trilogy. With no Darth Vader or Palpatine to challenge our favorite heroes he created probably the third most famous villain in the franchise. Grand Admiral Thrawn.
When Disney owned Lucasfilm decided to shelve all Expanded Universe content that meant Thrawn was no longer part of the canon universe. Until Dave Filoni brought him back in a new way for the animated show Rebels. Timothy Zahn was brought back and has written three new Thrawn books.
With the success of those books and the fans clamoring for more it is rumored that a spin-off film called ‘The Glare of Thrawn’ could find its way to movie theaters.
Dave Filoni
Dave Filoni is the closest thing to George Lucas we will ever see again when it comes to developing Star Wars Content. With two successful animated shows under his belt in The Clone Wars & Rebels.
Recently he and Jon Favreau have collaborated on the first live action Star Wars television show, The Mandalorian. And it appears that Filoni is not done yet.
Recently it was suggested that a follow up to Filoni’s successful show Rebels was getting a follow up. Today it appears that this follow up will be call ‘New Jedi Order’
The series will follow Luke Skywalker as he tries to repair the Jedi Order. It seems that Lucasfilm and Filoni are hoping Mark Hamill will return to voice the role of Luke Skywalker.
The High Republic
Finally, it has been stated by a reliable source that the next film saga will focus on a time period called ‘The High Republic.’ Taking place roughly 400 years prior to the events of the Skywalker saga.
It seems Yoda could possibly the main protagonist in at least one of the films which wont be reliant on a trilogy format. Rather they will have a number of films that all connect loosely. (Think how the MCU films all connect.) Supposedly this is how the A Star Wars story films were supposed to go until they ran into issues.
Obviously, these films will be taking place during the time where Jedi are prominent in the Galaxy but still during the time frame of the Sith’s rule of two set by Darth Bane in the Old Republic.
So, what do you think? Any of this get you excited for the future of Star Wars?
Episode IX is not doing well with fans, its being mocked all over the internet
IDK.. it seems to be about as split as The Last Jedi was.
