Rosario Dawson is Ahsoka Tano

Big news today in the World of Star Wars. Rosario Dawson (Rent, Clerks II & Daredevil) has been cast as former Jedi apprentice Ahsoka Tano in the upcoming season of The Mandalorian.

Ahsoka Tano made her debut in the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars. While criticized early on, Dave Filoni’s creation grew in popularity over the years.

When The initial run of The Clone Wars cartoon ended in 2014. She was re-introduced a couple years later on Filoni’s follow up, Star Wars Rebels. During this show Ahsoka found herself coming face to face with her former master, Anakin Skywalker and meeting what appeared to be an untimely death.

In the final season of Rebels though, it is revealed that Ahsoka lived. Being pulled into the World between worlds by the show’s main protagonist, Ezra Bridger. Finally, during the final minutes of the series she is seen heading on an adventure with Sabine Wren after the events of Return of the Jedi as the Empire falls.

At this point her importance and connection to the show is yet to be revealed. With her having the ability to tap into the Force you would have to assume that she will be involved in taking care of The Child (Baby Yoda) in some capacity.
