Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Gets a New Title

It was only weeks ago fans of Star Wars and Marvel were speculating on the possibility of Kevin Feige taking over for Kathy Kennedy at Lucasfilm. But today Deadline reports that Kevin will be adding the title of ‘Chief Creative Officer, Marvel, to his current title.

This is HUGE news for Marvel and Disney as we are seeing more and more Marvel properties being created for the big screen and their soon to release streaming service, Disney+.

Deadline states that Marvel TV and animation generator Marvel Family Entertainment will be moving under Kevin’s Marvel Studios banner.

Feige has already been over seeing the Marvel Cinematic Universe and helped in many, if not all, of the creative decisions for the last 11 years in regards to those films. Giving him more control and freedom only makes sense with how successful he has been.

He will continue to report to Walt Disney Co-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Alan Horn and Alan Bergman. This was a decision to move all TV and film productions as well as publishing under Marvel Studios.

Keep an eye on SCPOD.NET for more info as we get it.

It only make sense for him to stay on with the Marvel side of the house. If left it would seriously change the direction of how everything plays out.

I mean, i guess it is still possible for him to move over to Lucasfilm at some point… But I totally agree that this makes way more sense in the grand scheme of things. He has shown and proven that he understands these characters and obviously how to produce films. I’m curious to see where he ranks with top producers in the industry.
