Johnny Depp EXITS Fantastic Beasts Franchise
Johnny Depp announces via social media that he is exiting the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
Depp announcing his departure from the “Harry Potter” spinoff series comes a few short days after he lost his libel case against The Sun, a British tabloid that published a damning article in 2018 alleging he was a “wife beater.”
Warner Bros. has confirmed the actor’s exit and has assured everyone that the role will be recast prior to third Installment’s release. With that WB also announced that Fantastic Beasts 3 will be pushed back from November 2021 to Summer 2022.
