John Cena and James Gunn Tapped for ‘The Suicide Squad’ Spin-Off ‘Peacemaker’ for HBO Max
According to a report from Variety. HBOMax has given a straight to series order for a spin-off series, Peacemaker, from The upcoming James Gunn film, The Suicide Squad.
The show will be an adventure comedy and follow Peacemaker, played by John Cena, as it will reportedly explore his origin of being a man who believes in peace no matter what the cost.
James Gunn will write and direct multiple episodes prior to him returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3.
True. It’s also DC coming to me & saying, “If you could do a TV show about any character from The Suicide Squad, which one would you do 1st?” And I was like, “I’ve been having this idea about #Peacemaker…” I’m always driven by what excites me most creatively in the moment. https://t.co/tY6VNot9Hy
