GO JOE! Hasbro Makes Original GI Joe Episodes Available On YouTube!

Quarantined kids at heart rejoice! The original GI Joe series is now available to watch for free. The series is broken up into three serialized stories: “The Revenge of Cobra,” “The M.A.S.S. Device,” and “The Pyramid of Darkness.” The entire first series is streaming free, right now, on Hasbro’s YouTube Channel.

The original G.I. Joe, created by Ron Friedman (Transformers) and based on the action figure toyline, began with a five-part miniseries before transforming into the full series following the chain of command of these soldiers. The cartoon ran from 1983 to 1986. A total of 95 episodes were produced in that first series. (“The M.A.S.S. Device” miniseries available on YouTube is actually the original five installments of the show, with “The Revenge of Cobra” being the next storyline). Later a theatrical animated film was released, and later still several revivals and spinoffs were produced as well as two live-action movies. A third live action film, titled Snake Eyes, previously scheduled to open in theaters on October 23, 2020 will most likely not meet that release date due to the many production delays associated with the recent covid-19 outbreak.

So, given that the world is mostly on hold, now is as good a time as ever to break out that box of GI Joe action-figures that your mom had sense enough not throw out, find the largest cereal bowl in your house and fill it to the brim with sugary goodness, and pull up the Hasbro YouTube channel to check out the original series. You won’t regret it.
