Things appear to be moving in a promising direction with the upcoming and HIGHLY anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+. After a a couple delays from re-writes and the Covid pandemic the Star Wars show is finally heading into its casting phase. While we know Ewan McGregor is returning to the role of the war weathered Jedi Master we now have an idea of additional characters we may see as a casting breakdown has found its way online.
In one report it states, Naomi Scott (Aladdin, Power Rangers) is one of three actors who has received a callback for the role of Riley. It appears to be a lead role along side McGregor’s Kenobi. According to illminerdi Thusso Mbedu (Saints and Sinners) and Anula Nalekar (Brahman Naman) are also up for the role.
Below you will find a break down of the current casting that is taking place. The names appear to be place holders so not give away any story elements of the show. Typical for a project like this.
Riley (aka Eve) Female 20-25 years old
Tia, Female in her 30s
Harold, a quirky, comedic male, 20s or 30s
Bella, Latinx Female in her 40s
While the show’s production and story will be held to secrecy, McGregor did confirm while on the Graham Norton show, earlier this fall, that the series would begin filming March 2021.
