BACK 4 BLOOD the Game We have Been Waiting for Since 2009

During the Zombie craze of the late 2000’s Turtle Rock Studios, Valve, and Certain Affinity released 2 monster hit games in Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. Both games built off of Valve’s source engine allowing players to have a pulse pounding immersive experience fighting off hordes of Zombies with their friends.

Unfortunately, since the release of the second game in 2009, fans have been clamoring at the bit for information on the next installment. Despite rumors and possible leaked images of a Left 4 Dead 3 nothing official was ever announced. As hype around the Zombie genre began to die down so too did the excitement for a possible third installment. While there have been plenty of fans still holding out hope, all seemed lost when 10 years went by with no sort of announcement.

This is when things get interesting though. In early 2020 Turtle Rock announced Back 4 Blood. A game that would be building off of the Left 4 Dead series keeping the team and weapons aspect intact. While Back 4 Blood appears to be the sequel we have all been waiting for… the unfortunate truth is it isn’t. Back 4 Blood, while carrying many of the same mechanics and ideas of the Left 4 Dead series is it’s own thing and has been described as a “spiritual successor” to the Left 4 Dead series.
